Dr Richards Afonja
Managing Director

Dr Richards Afonja is the chairman/CEO of RAFJ International Inc, Jersey Clinics, Colfax Oncology LLC, Paterson Medical Health Services Corp (The Urgicare) in New Jersey, USA. He is the founder and CEO of the American Hospitals (Nig) Ltd. The first of the American Hospitals clinics is the Blood and Cancer Center in Lekki Phase One, Lagos.

 

Dr Richards Afonja is a consultant Hematologist/Oncologist/Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation with more than 26 years experience in private medical practice, teaching and research experience at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (A Mt. Sinai Hospitals, New York Affiliate), Seton Hall University, Orange, New Jersey. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has been awarded with Strathmore’s Who’s Who Award (Millennium Edition) in Science (For Online Cancer Information, Social Network and Consultation) – CancerQ.org.
He’s also a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Hematology and American Board of Oncology.

 

His main interests have been the immunology of cancer and the development of immunotherapy to treat patients. He’s also had Private Practice in: Internal Medicine, Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation with special interest in Medical Tourism.
He is also the CEO and founder of AHAR Pharma (a pharmaceutical company)

2Mr. John Aiyegbo
V.P Nursing

Mr. John is the VP Nursing at the American Hospitals and was also the VP Nursing at the IBB Specialized Hospital, Minna, 2007 – 2009.

He has served in various Nursing and administrative capacities at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey, USA for 32 years.
Other Community Hospitals that have benefitted from his expertise among a host of others include East Orange general Hospital, East Orange, Orange Memorial Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital, Newark, and ESSEX County (Psychiatrist) Hospital, Cedar grove, all in New Jersey.

Dr Moji, Bisiriyu
Physician

Dr Moji is a physician with the American Hospitals who makes her patients care a top priority in delivery of her duties. She completed her MBBS from the college of Medicine, University of Lagos, Lagos – Nigeria.

She had the opportunity to work at the Military Hospital, Odogbo Barracks, Ojo – Ibadan, Nigeria and also at the Springs Family Clinic, Lagos, Nigeria.

 

 


 

4Joy Anokam
Client Services

Joy has a passion for working with clients, seeing projects through to successful completion, and keeping a finger on the pulse of the ever changing trends. With her BSC in Accounting, Joy launched her career working on a variety of projects in business development and went on to get more job training increasing her capacity to effective client services.

“Joining American Hospitals at such an important point in the hospital’s growth plans is a tremendous opportunity,” said Dr Afonja. With her background and expertise in business development and client services, she is focused on forging critical partnerships and alliances to ensure American Hospitals is the leader in private health care.

Joy Anokam comes to American Hospitals from Sub-urban, where she was Business development executive. Her business development skills leadership helped Sub-urban become the one of the fastest growing telecoms company in Lagos. Joy previously was at MTN, Nigeria, where she was able to apply cutting-edge marketing techniques to drive demand for their portfolio of products, nurture those leads and turn prospects into customers.

 


 

7Oluwadamilola Tugbobo
IT/Web Administrator

Oluwadamilola’s primary responsibility is the efficient management and smooth running of the information technology department of American Hospitals. A Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the prestigious Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, plus practical hands-on experience and exposure in the field of Information Technology, and his inconsumable crave for challenges in this field puts him in good stead to occupy this office.

A Web/User Experience Designer, an Information Security enthusiast, and a Social Media Evangelist who strongly advocates the use of social media to build great businesses. He is also Cisco Certified, and possesses great strengths in the following technical skills: Installation and configuration of computer operating systems/applications, Monitoring/maintaining computer systems and networks, Troubleshooting/resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues. “Damilola” as he is fondly called is also an alumnus of the Google Sub-Saharan Africa User Experience Masterclass. He enjoys adding special value by masterminding new forays into improvement of IT services at the American Hospitals.
